Early Years and Foundation Stage

Foundation stage are taught in 2 classes, Lower Foundation Stage (LFS) with Mrs Leiper, and Upper Foundation Stage (UFS) with Mrs Tate. Both classes have large, well-resourced rooms which allow the children to access a range of active, play based learning opportunities, however, we also spend a significant part of each day working together as a unit and sharing resources.

We believe that outdoor learning is vitally important to the development of young children. Foundation Stage has a spacious quad with a large canopied area in which to play and learn come rain or shine.

This page provides information for parents and carers on the end of year expectations for children in our school. The staff have identified these expectations as being the minimum requirements your child must meet in order to ensure continued progress throughout the following year.

All the objectives will be worked on throughout the year and will be the focus of direct teaching. Any extra support you can provide in helping your children to achieve these is greatly valued.
If you have any queries regarding the content of this booklet or want support in knowing how best to help your child please talk to your childís teacher.
